Annemarie Jo is a well accomplished singer-songwriter from the Detroit MI. area and
has been singing since she could talk. Music has always played a big part in her family,
leading her to writing catchy, emotionally charged songs, playing guitar and often
performing up to 4 to 5 shows a week. Being musically versatile, her genres include pop,
rock, alternative, and soul.
Annemarie Jo’s musical influences range from Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Hall & Oates and
Eagles to Diana Ross, America and Tina Turner. While Annemarie Jo garners inspiration
from listening to many of these artists, she has a unique sound of her own. Her wide
range of songs includes originals as well as many renditions of fan-favorites.
“The best part of my live performances is the emotional connection between the
audience and myself.” She says, “I am able to change someone’s mood with my music
and bring joy to others. I feel vulnerable and invincible at the same time, and couldn’t
get that feeling from doing anything else.”
Her performances include singing the National Anthem at Comerica Park for Detroit
Tigers’ games and 3 days of performances at the Michigan State Fair Superstar
Competition, where she took 2nd place. For the third year in a row, Annemarie Jo has
been nominated for Detroit's Best Music Artist of 2024 by Hour Magazine. Previous
winners include Eminem & The White Stripes' lead singer Jack White.
Annemarie Jo writes about various topics that affect her life including emotional battles,
her anxiety, friendships and the hardships that come with that, love, beauty, God and
more. Her music is both inspirational, emotional and catchy, which keeps her fans
coming back for more as well as gain new fans.
Her brand new single “Excuse Me (While I Lose My Cool)” drops December 6th as well as a music video to go with the song, and can’t wait to share it with the world. Annemarie Jo looks forward to completing a full-length album and touring. “I feel like my music is an avenue to that,
breaking into new experiences and uniting people with my music. I think everyone
craves connection and authenticity, and that’s why music is such a universal love
language.”
