Meet Annemarie Jo

Annemarie Jo is an aspiring singer/songwriter originating in the Detroit area looking to make a splash in a plethora of genres including pop, rock, alternative, and soul. Her incredible vocal control has landed her multiple opportunities performing at venues around the country. In 2018,  she wrote and released an EP album, All the Glory, and performed her originals at a variety of churches around the state of Michigan. In February of 2024  she released her single "Cherry On Top" and later that same year in December, she released her newest and most exciting release "Excuse Me (While I Lose My Cool). She shot and released her first ever music video for Excuse Me at the Aretha Jazz Cafe in the heart of Detroit. Annemarie Jo graduated college in 2020 with a degree in general management and a minor in music. 

More recently, Annemarie Jo has made music a full-time focus, spending her time writing for her next album and performing at local venues. Annemarie Jo performed over 100 different gigs between June and December of 2021 alone, after an extended hiatus due to COVID. Her presence in the Metro-Detroit entertainment scene has seen steady growth following the pandemic. Her performances have included the performing of the National Anthem at Comerica Park for Detroit Tigers’ games and 3 days of performances at the Michigan State Fair Superstar Competition, where she took 2nd place out of 75 artists and bands from around the state to try out for the contest. She was the only solo performer to be called back for the second and third rounds of the competition. 2021 also saw Annemarie Jo performing in Nashville’s “Chasin’ Melodies” event, as well as various other gigs on Nashville’s main strip. Her shows also included a number of worship concerts held for the community at Epic Church in Shelby Township, Michigan where she was previously employed as Worship Director. Furthermore, Annemarie Jo joined a band of local performers, known as Sinjon Smith, as lead singer to complement her solo performances. Sinjon Smith holds the title for the Number 1 pop cover band in the Midwest, according to TheBash.com. In 2022, Annemarie Jo performed over 115 gigs all throughout the country while continuing to song write and pursue her music career. 

For the third year in a row, Annemarie Jo has been nominated  for Detroit's Best Music Artist of 2025 by Hour Magazine. Previous winners include Grammy winners and nominees Eminem & The White Stripes' lead singer Jack White, both notable and talented artists.

Annemarie Jo boasts a powerful voice and is stunning to listen to. Her talent is worthy of significant praise, especially at the range she is able carry her power through. Her range of songs is wide and includes her originals as well as many renditions of fan-favorites, performed in her unique style alone. Her acoustic performances and stage presence as an individual performer are impressive. She continues to shine as the star when performing with her band, creating opportunities to showcase her ability to focus on her singing and engagement with the crowd.
